The Lamb’s Reward: bible study

A bible study on Revelation 7:9-17.

  1. Open in prayer, asking God to guide you as you study this passage together.

  2. Read the whole passage together.

  3. What stands out to you from this passage?

  4. Read Rev. 21:1-8. What is similar, and what is different in the two passages?

  5. Taken together, how would you summarise that picture of heaven which is given in these two passages?

  6. Back to chapter 7 only. What is the significance of the fact that it’s a ‘great multitude, which no one could count’?

  7. Why do you think that it specifically says ‘from every nation, tribe, people and language’? Why is this so important?

  8. What is the significance of the white robes and the palm branches (see v.14)?

  9. What is this multitude doing in heaven? How is this significant?

  10. What is their reward?

  11. The promise at the end of 17 is repeated again in chapter 21, word for word. Why do you think that this is so?

  12. What would you say is the mission take-away from this passage?

  13. How do you see your own life in terms of the church’s call to make Christ known to ‘every nation, tribe, people and language’?

  14. Do you think that God is calling you to make any adjustments to your life in light of what we have seen in this passage?

  15. Close together in prayer, responding to what God has shown you through His Word.
